Reflections for April

Return to Prayer Group Home Page

In our daily lives, we strive for perfection. There is great pressure nowadays in all aspects of life. A pressure to succeed - and to be seen to be succeeding. For some of us the pressures can be too great. We become shackled by our cares and woes. Our efforts to sort out our problems can sometimes only serve to make them seem bigger, leaving less and less time to enjoy our life, our family, the challenges of our work or even our leisure time. There is no time left for prayer - and what do we get from prayer anyway?

Prayer is a means of opening a channel of grace in our lives. A few moments of prayer makes it possible for the power of God to work in us to achieve far more than we could ask or imagine.

When we concentrate on our problems, we magnify them to the extent that there is no room for anything else. But, when we pray to God, we magnify Him and we see our lives in the light of Truth.

God is Truth - and the Truth will set you free
